The more common causes of bilateral hydronephrosis are bilateral ureteral stones, bladder outlet obstruction, congenital stenosis of renal pelvic-ureteral junction, etc. It is recommended to seek medical treatment in time.
1. Bilateral ureteral stones: bilateral hydronephrosis may be caused by bilateral ureteral stones, some patients usually combined with bilateral kidney stones, if bilateral kidney stones fall into bilateral ureter at the same time, it may lead to bilateral urinary tract obstruction, causing bilateral hydronephrosis. These patients can be treated with extracorporeal shock wave lithotripsy, endoscopic lithotripsy and surgical lithotripsy.
2. Bladder outlet obstruction: It may be caused by bladder outlet obstruction, resulting in excessive urine in the bladder, and the urine formed in the ureter of the kidney can’t be discharged efficiently, which will cause hydronephrosis secondary to the bladder outlet obstruction. Such patients can be treated by laparoscopic surgery and transurethral surgery.
3. Congenital stenosis of renal pelvic-ureteral junction: that is, congenital developmental abnormality, resulting in stenosis of the renal pelvis and ureteral junction, which causes obstruction in adulthood and leads to hydronephrosis. Such patients can be treated with endoluminal therapy, or through laparoscopic surgery or nephrostomy.
There may also be other causes of hydronephrosis, so it is recommended that patients go to regular hospitals in time, complete the examination to clarify the cause of the disease, and then give targeted treatment or therapy under the guidance of the doctor.
