Lymph node nodules in the neck may be caused by lymphadenitis, metastatic lymph nodes from cancer, tuberculosis in the neck and so on. The specific causes are different, and so are the treatment modalities, which need to be based on the cause of the symptoms.
1. Lymphadenitis: Most of the cases are caused by pharyngitis, mumps, upper respiratory tract infections or thyroid inflammatory diseases, etc., which make the lymphatic tissues in the neck suffer from bacterial infections and stimulation, and thus lymph nodes become hyperplastic and enlarged, which can be treated by taking drugs such as levofloxacin tablets, erythromycin tablets, and so on.
2. Cancer metastasis to lymph nodes: thyroid cancer, lung cancer, breast cancer, nasopharyngeal cancer, laryngeal cancer and other malignant tumors may be metastasized through lymphatic transfer, resulting in enlarged lymph nodes in the neck. Pathologic examination after puncture is needed to clarify the diagnosis, and then surgery, radiotherapy and chemotherapy (such as paclitaxel, gemcitabine hydrochloride, etc.) should be given as prescribed by doctors.
3. Neck tuberculosis: When neck tuberculosis occurs, it will also cause lymph node problems, accompanied by low fever in the afternoon, emaciation, night sweating (sweating abnormally after going to sleep, and sweating stops after waking up) and other tuberculosis toxicity symptoms, which can be treated with isoniazid, rifampicin, pyrazinamide, ethambutol tablets and other medicines according to the doctor’s instructions.
If there are lymph nodes in the neck, it is recommended that the patient consult a doctor in time to find out the cause of the disease and give targeted treatment.
