How long does it take to bleed after cervical cerclage?

A small number of cervical cricothyrotomies are actually conical excisions of the cervix, and the vast majority will not have bleeding immediately after the conization procedure. Some people will have a faint discharge of blood, but there will be more discharge outside the vagina. It is important to keep the vulva clean and to change the sanitary napkin and underwear regularly to avoid local inflammation due to infection. In most cases, vaginal bleeding will occur about a week after conization, as the crusts formed on the mucosal tissue begin to fall off. Some people have relatively little vaginal bleeding, just blood in the discharge, while others have more, but it is often less than menstruation. It is advisable to avoid heavy work, to change the sanitary napkin regularly and to keep the vulva clean so as to avoid infection. There are individual differences in this bleeding, with the vast majority lasting about ten days and some lasting about half a month.
