Fixation of fractures

There are several types of fracture fixation: first, external fixation, including external fixation brace, plaster, splint, etc. Through these external fixation can keep the fracture end stable, and it is good to observe the blood supply at the end of the limb, and the patient has no obvious injury. Second, internal fixation, including plate and screw internal fixation, intramedullary pin, wire, etc., this kind of internal fixation needs to cut the skin, reset the fracture site, and implant the metal internal fixation, the patient’s fracture repositioning is usually better than external fixation, but it will have some effect on the blood supply to the fracture end. Also, in most cases, the internal fixation needs to be removed about one year after the fracture heals.
