Can you detect pregnancy after 5 days of delayed menstruation?

If a woman has a regular menstrual cycle of 28-30 days and her period is delayed by 5 days, pregnancy can be detected by morning urine. However, if a woman has irregular periods, often with delayed periods, it may not be detected. It takes about half a month for the egg to enter the uterine cavity after fertilization and then to implant. After implantation, the trophoblast cells begin to secrete blood HCG, and it is then that pregnancy can be detected. Therefore, a blood HCG test or a urine HCG test can be done when your period is 5 days late to check if you are pregnant. If the blood HCG value is <3.1IU/L, it means no pregnancy, >5.0IU/L means 7-10 days of pregnancy, >100IU/L means about 30 days of pregnancy. If the urine HCG is 1 bar, it is negative indicating no pregnancy; if it is 2 bars, it is positive indicating possible pregnancy. If the result of the first test is negative, do not be anxious, it is recommended to retest after 3-5 days, if it is still negative, it means no pregnancy. If the period is irregular and the number of days to fertilize the egg is not clear, it is possible that it is too short to detect pregnancy. If pregnancy is confirmed, it is recommended to go for an ultrasound after 45 days of menopause to clarify if the pregnancy is intrauterine.
