Cerebral palsy mainly causes central motor deficits with abnormalities in muscle tone and posture, in addition to one or more of the following symptoms in varying degrees: mental retardation; growth retardation; oral-facial dysfunction, difficulty chewing, swallowing, difficulty closing the mouth, salivation; dental dysplasia; speech disorders; epilepsy; sensory impairment; loss of recognition and use; personality, emotional and behavioral disorders. Early diagnosis and treatment is recommended! Cerebral palsy mainly leads to central motor disorders with abnormalities in muscle tone and posture: 1: Central motor disorders manifest as developmental backwardness, such as backwardness in head raising, rolling over, sitting and limb movement development or deletion in the child. Difficulties in primary movement, rigidity of movement, uncoordinated, asymmetrical, abnormal movement patterns or joint responses and non-primary activities are present. II: Abnormal muscle tone and posture Muscle tone starts to decrease, later increases and few decreases. There are abnormal postural reflexes, co-motor patterns. For example, the child’s head and limbs cannot be kept on the neutral line, or the course is now bowed and reflexed, or the limbs are in spasm. Cerebral palsy not only has motor dysfunction and postural abnormalities, but also has the following symptoms in different degrees: 1. mental retardation: about 1/4 of the children have normal intelligence, 1/2 have mild to moderate mental retardation, and about 1/4 have severe mental retardation. 2, growth retardation. 3.Facial dysfunction, chewing, swallowing difficulties, oral closure difficulties, salivation. 4.Dental dysplasia. 5, language disorders: about 30%-70%, the beginning of sucking, swallowing, and chewing difficulties, later manifested as unclear pronunciation, difficulty in the composition of speech, language expression disorders and aphasia. Language disorders are directly related to the level of intelligence. 6, epilepsy: about 1/3, spastic tetraplegia and unilateral paresis are more common, especially the incidence of severe mental retardation is high. The spastic type of cerebral palsy often has convulsions on the affected limbs. 7. Sensory impairment: There can be auditory impairment, tactile impairment and visual impairment. Severe visual defects include congenital cataract, optic nerve atrophy, and about 2/3 of them are accompanied by strabismus, with internal strabismus being the most common, which is also one of the earliest signs of cerebral palsy. 8. Cognitive and disorders: tactile discrimination, i.e. the inability to distinguish the type or shape of objects by touch; visual discrimination, i.e. difficulty in distinguishing various objects, pictures and locations; auditory discrimination, difficulty in distinguishing the rhythm of sounds and speech. 9, personality, emotional and behavioral disorders: mood swings, irritability, capriciousness, stubbornness, etc. Behavior disorders can be manifested as inattentiveness, loneliness, and disassociation. The above are the main complications of cerebral palsy. Early treatment of cerebral palsy will be of great benefit to your family. Don’t panic when the above symptoms appear, and go to the hospital for examination in time.
