What are the symptoms of recurrent colon cancer?



Symptoms of colon cancer recurrence include symptoms of primary site, symptoms of distant metastatic site, such as change of bowel habit, abdominal pain, abdominal mass, and systemic symptoms.

1. Primary site symptoms. That is to say, they are seen in the people who have tumor recurrence at the primary site.

(1) Change of bowel habit. Including increased frequency of defecation, constipation, blood or mucus in stool.

(2) Abdominal pain. Most of them are the symptoms at the early stage of recurrence, which are manifested as vague pain in the abdomen, uncertain location of pain, and also lower abdominal cramps and other manifestations.

(3) Abdominal mass. It is a nodular, hard mass that can be touched in the abdomen.

(4) Systemic symptoms. Such as fatigue, low fever, emaciation, jaundice, ascites and other manifestations.

(2) Symptoms of distant metastatic sites. Colon cancer may recur and lead to lung metastasis, liver metastasis, bone metastasis, etc., thus showing cough, chest tightness, chest pain, dyspnea; vague pain in liver area, jaundice, nausea; localized pain of bone metastasis and other manifestations.
