How to treat carotid aneurysm

Carotid aneurysm can be treated by conservative observation, medication, surgery and intervention.
1. Conservative observation: If the aneurysm is relatively small, it can be observed dynamically and reviewed regularly.
2. Drug treatment: there are certain differences between individuals, and drugs are recommended to be used under the guidance of doctors. Valsartan, metoprolol and other drugs can be used to lower blood pressure and reduce the possibility of aneurysm rupture. Statins, such as atorvastatin, can also be used to help reduce the likelihood of aneurysm complications.
3. Surgery: Carotid aneurysms can be treated with carotid atherectomy, which removes the aneurysm and restores the blood supply to the neck.
4. Interventional therapy: Some patients who are too old, weak or suffering from serious underlying diseases may consider using interventional therapy for treatment.
It is recommended that patients with carotid aneurysm should go to the hospital in time for timely treatment under the guidance of doctors.
