Betalucil is metoprolol tartrate. Metoprolol tartrate and amiodarone can be taken at the same time, following your doctor’s instructions. When used in combination, the dosage of amiodarone with metoprolol tartrate needs to be reduced. Amiodarone can treat atrial arrhythmias and ventricular arrhythmias. Adverse effects include heart rate slowing, QT interval prolongation, and arrhythmias. Amiodarone is contraindicated in patients with severe sinus node dysfunction and bradycardia. Metoprolol tartrate belongs to the treatment of angina pectoris and hypertension. Adverse reactions are mainly slowing of heart rate, lowering of blood pressure, and worsening of heart failure. Metoprolol tartrate is contraindicated in patients with severe bradycardia, cardiogenic shock, and asthma.
