Difference between neurodermatitis and eczema

The difference between neurodermatitis and eczema is mainly due to different etiologic factors, different clinical manifestations and different locations of occurrence. 1. Different causes: eczema may be caused by a variety of internal and external factors such as food, inhalants and the living environment, while neurodermatitis, i.e. chronic lichen simplex, is mainly related to neuropsychiatric factors and repeated scratching and stimulation. 2. Different parts of the body: eczema occurs everywhere in the body, neurodermatitis occurs in the neck, elbow and knee joints, lumbosacral area, etc., usually confined to one place or both sides of the symmetrical distribution. 3. Different clinical manifestations: eczema can be divided into acute eczema, subacute eczema, chronic eczema, etc., the lesion pattern is polymorphic, there can be erythema, papules, papules, oozing, mossy changes. Neurodermatitis is characterized by reddish, light brown polygonal flat papules, densely packed in patches, with mossy changes. When the above symptoms appear, it is recommended to seek medical treatment in time, and not to blindly use medication after making unauthorized judgments.
