Does general anesthesia have side effects on the body?

General anesthesia generally has no side effects on the body, but due to the existence of variability in individual constitution, some patients may experience temporary side effects, such as nausea, vomiting, diarrhea and so on. In general, if the patient has no obvious contraindications to anesthesia drugs, under the guidance of the doctor to regulate the use of anesthesia drugs, and does not cause harm to the body, generally no side effects. However, some patients may experience transient nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, decreased blood pressure, arrhythmia and other side effects after using general anesthesia. When the drug is metabolized by the body, its side effects can be relieved on their own and will not harm the body’s health. In some serious cases, symptoms such as respiratory paralysis and cardiac arrest may occur, but the chance of such serious reactions is small. Therefore, before receiving anesthesia, patients generally need to be evaluated by anesthesiologists and qualified before general anesthesia.
