The standard method of testing insulin release is the 75g glucose tolerance test. For patients who have been diagnosed or have high blood sugar, a modified method can be used, which is the two-two-bun meal test. The practice is that the patient should fast, that is, do not eat after 8 o’clock the night before, and early in the morning it is generally recommended that the patient should come to the hospital before 9 o’clock, put 75g of prepared sugar powder in 300ml of warm boiled water, measure the basic blood glucose plus insulin before taking it, drink it within 5 minutes, and draw blood to measure blood glucose and the corresponding insulin at 30 minutes, 60 minutes, 120 minutes and 180 minutes, respectively. The patient’s islet function will be evaluated based on the blood glucose and corresponding insulin and C-peptide release levels.
