Perilla leaf is used for relieving exterior cold (removing cold from the muscle surface), promoting circulation of Qi and harmonizing the stomach. It is used in treating wind-cold and flu, cough and vomiting, and vomiting in pregnancy.
Perilla leaf is a sweet, mildly warm herb made from the dried leaves (or shoots) of Perilla frutescens, family Labiatae. It belongs to the lung and spleen meridians. It has the properties of dispersing cold and relieving the symptoms, moving qi and harmonizing the stomach, detoxifying fish and crab, stopping vomiting and tranquilizing the fetus.
This herb is mainly suitable for the treatment of wind-cold syndrome, nausea and vomiting, cough and phlegm, abdominal pain and diarrhea, chest and epigastric distension, fish and crab poisoning, fetal qi disharmony, pregnancy obstruction (early pregnancy, nausea and vomiting, dizziness and anorexia, or even vomiting when eating) and other diseases.
