Exercises for Knee Degeneration

Exercise methods for knee joint degeneration include relaxation method, quadriceps contraction training, straight leg raising training and so on. 1. Loosening method: the patient lies down, the operator uses the thumb to press and knead the soft tissues of the patella of the patient’s knee up, down, inside and outside, and focuses on pressing and kneading at the pressure and pain place, and then pops up the popliteus muscle and gastrocnemius tendon; kneading bone protruding method, the patient lies down, the operator fixes the patella with the index finger of the operator’s two hands, and then pushes the patella in the direction of upward, downward, inside, outside, and inside upward and inside downward for several times in order. 2. Quadriceps contraction training: the patient lies flat on the bed, the knee is straight, the quadriceps isometric contraction, relaxation of static activity. Knee flexion and extension activities, the patient sits on the edge of the bed, put the knee on the side of the bed, try to straighten the knee, keep the straight position, when there is a feeling of soreness, and then slowly flex the knee, repeated for many times. 3. Straight leg elevation exercise: patients lie on their backs, bend the knee to elevate the femur, then straighten the knee and keep it in the straight position until there is soreness and swelling, then bend the knee.
