Esomeprazole is usually taken 1 to 2 times a day and needs to be used as prescribed by your doctor. Esomeprazole is used for the treatment of erosive reflux esophagitis at a dosage of 40mg 20mg twice a day; for symptom control of gastroesophageal reflux disease at 20mg once a day; and for the treatment of Helicobacter pylori bacteria, taken twice a day. Taking esomeprazole may cause adverse reactions such as abdominal pain, diarrhea, bloating, nausea, vomiting, constipation, dermatitis, itching, and dizziness. It is contraindicated for those who are allergic to certain components of the drug; contraindicated for lactating women and children; used with caution in pregnancy.
