What does vocal nodule mean?

Vocal nodules are generally referred to as vocal fold nodules, which are nodular elevations of the vocal folds caused by excessive use of voice, etc., and are mainly manifested as hoarseness.
Vocal fold nodules usually grow in the junction of the anterior and middle 1/3 of the vocal folds bilaterally, and the symmetrical nodular elevation is the typical manifestation of vocal fold nodules. Most of them are caused by excessive or improper use of voice for a long time. It is common in people who use their voices professionally or excessively, such as singers, actors, teachers, and so on.
Patients with vocal cord nodules may experience hoarseness, which is mild in the early stages, with the voice becoming slightly “thick” or basically normal. Afterwards, the hoarseness may gradually worsen and develop into persistent hoarseness, affecting daily life.
If you feel unwell, it is recommended that you seek prompt medical attention.
