Accurate Location of Belt Pulse Point

Belt Vein point is located in the lateral abdomen, the intersection of the vertical line of the free end of the 11th rib and the horizontal line of the umbilicus. It is a commonly used acupoint of the Foot Shaoyang Gallbladder Meridian, which has the effect of regulating menstruation and stopping leucorrhea, tonifying the kidney and strengthening the waist. It is mainly used for treating gynecological diseases such as irregular menstruation, menstrual closure, lumbago, and red-white leucorrhoea (meaning leucorrhoea mixed with blood, red-white, or leucorrhoea that is thick and with blood filaments). In modern clinical practice, it is also used to treat menstrual disorders, abnormal leukorrhea (such as excessive amount and abnormal color), adnexitis, pelvic inflammatory disease, endometritis, and lumbago. To take the point, you can first identify the 10th rib, follow the lower edge of the rib arch outward and downward to the bottom of the rib slightly below to touch the free end of the 11th rib, and then make a plumb line to find the position where it intersects with the level of the navel. If there is any discomfort and the point needs to be pricked, it should be done under the operation of a specialized doctor.
