Talking about pediatric asthma

Based on the physiological development of pediatric patients, asthma suffered by children up to 14 years of age is generally referred to as pediatric asthma. Pediatric asthma is an allergic allergic disease, and those with allergic diseases such as drug allergy, eczema, urticaria or angioneurotic edema are prone to asthma. If grandparents, parents, grandparents have a history of asthma or other allergies, the likelihood of asthma is high. Those with food allergies are also susceptible to asthma. Can pediatric asthma be cured? Generally speaking, it can be cured. Because of the characteristics of growth and development during the pediatric period, the function of all organs are not perfect, especially the immune function is low, the level of antibodies is low, the ability to adapt to the external environment is poor, easy to develop respiratory infections and asthma. As children grow older, their organs mature, their immune function increases, and their ability to adapt to the external environment increases, the chance of developing respiratory infections is greatly reduced, and the chance of developing asthma gradually decreases. However, in clinical practice, we can see that a small percentage of children with frequent attacks in early childhood still have attacks after adolescence, and they can even extend into adulthood. It is believed that this part of the children who are difficult to treat often have an age of onset earlier than 2 years old, are atopic, have a history of eczema, are allergic to certain foods, such as poultry and eggs, and have a family history of allergies. Of course, parents should be reminded that once asthma occurs, they should cooperate with the specialist for correct, systematic and long-term treatment, and make efforts to find and get rid of allergens, in order to achieve a cure. What should be noted in the home environment of children with asthma? The first thing is to try not to lay carpets indoors, as carpets are very easy to breed mites, which are an important cause of asthma. Interior decoration and furniture should be as simple and easy to clean as possible. Avoid painting walls and floors. Keep the interior ventilated and require a certain amount of sunlight. Keep it dry and bright and avoid darkness and humidity. Always keep the room clean and hygienic to keep the dust from accumulating, especially the old dust, commonly known as “foreign dust”, which is particularly likely to cause allergic asthma. Avoid smoking when parents, friends and relatives come to visit. Passive smoking is also a cause of asthma in children. Avoid keeping poultry, livestock and birds in the home. These animals are often the allergens that cause asthma. The place of residence should be as far away as possible from industrial areas, especially those with serious industrial waste pollution. Air conditioners in the home should be installed carefully, as the cold air released during use is a trigger for children with asthma. Especially the cold air released by dust mites when using air conditioners is more likely to trigger asthma.
