The length of time between laparoscopic procedures depends on the patient’s condition and physical status. There are no clear requirements or restrictions on the time interval or the patient’s recovery period, as laparoscopy is a relatively mature surgical technique. If a patient has had a laparoscopic major gastrectomy and the first 24 hours postoperatively there is or is suspected to be an anastomotic fistula, he or she will soon have to undergo 2 surgeries, which can be preceded by a laparoscopic dissection, and this time interval is not yet more than one day. If a patient has had a laparoscopic appendectomy and after some time is complicated by other diseases, such as hernia, the time interval is indifferent and can be cut early or at intervals that do not interfere with doing the surgery.
