MRI and CT differ in terms of the presence or absence of radiation, the content of the examination, the price, and the time required. MRI mainly utilizes the hydrogen nuclei in the body to move under the action of an applied magnetic field and performs imaging; CT mainly utilizes rays to perform tomography on the human body. Therefore, CT has a certain amount of radiation, while MRI does not. In terms of the content of the examination, CT examination, the bones can be better shown; and MRI examination, muscles, ligaments and other soft tissues are more clear. There is also a difference between MRI and CT exams in terms of price, with CT exams being cheaper than MRI exams. CT exams have a faster imaging time and are usually completed in a few minutes; while MRI exams take up to ten minutes to complete.
