The purpose of surgical treatment for any fracture is to enable patients to perform functional exercises as early as possible to minimize postoperative complications and restore joint function. The functional exercise of femoral intertrochanteric fracture is divided into the following stages: 1. On the 1st day after surgery, active flexion and extension of the ankle joint as well as straight leg raising exercises are performed to enhance the strength of the muscles around the hip and prepare the patient for later activities on the ground, specifically by flexing and extending the ankle joint and keeping the muscle tension, maintaining it for 5-10 seconds, slowly relaxing and slowly lowering it at about 15 seconds; 2. The main method is to hold the patient’s ankle joint and hold the patient’s knee joint with one hand for knee flexion and extension activities, and try to let the patient take the initiative to complete this functional exercise movement, maintaining muscle tension for 10-15 seconds; 3. After 1 month, review X-rays in a regular hospital and change from sitting or bed exercise to standing exercise. It is recommended that patients go to a regular hospital and follow the professional advice of the surgeon or rehabilitation physician on how to perform rehabilitation exercises.
