AC stands for abdominal circumference of the fetus. AC is the abbreviation for abdominal circumference of the fetus during an ultrasound examination of a pregnant woman, i.e., the measurement of the fetus’s abdomen for one week, which is an important indicator of normal growth and development of the fetus. It is an important indicator of normal fetal growth and development. During pregnancy, the size of the fetus can be estimated based on the fetal abdominal circumference combined with the head circumference, biparietal diameter, and the length of the femur. If the abdominal circumference of the fetus is too large, it may be due to rapid fetal growth or fluid retention in the abdomen; if the abdominal circumference of the fetus is too small, it may be due to malnutrition during pregnancy or the actual number of days of pregnancy. Some pregnant women have disturbed menstrual cycles, and it may not be possible to calculate the expected date of labor through the menstrual cycle. In this case, the above values measured by ultrasound in early pregnancy can also be used to re-project the expected date of labor. It is recommended that pregnant women undergo regular pregnancy tests during pregnancy to observe the growth and development of the fetus, and if any abnormality is found, further examination is required.
