Hashimoto’s thyroiditis cannot be completely cured. Current clinical treatment aims to improve symptoms, reduce goiter, and prevent or delay the onset of hypothyroidism. Hashimoto’s thyroiditis, also known as chronic lymphocytic thyroiditis, is an autoimmune disease. There is no cure for Hashimoto’s thyroiditis, which is an autoimmune disease in which thyroid autoantibodies attack the cells of the thyroid gland, damaging the thyroid gland and permanently destroying the thyroid follicular cells that produce and store thyroid hormones. If the thyroid function is normal and the clinical symptoms are not obvious, no special treatment is needed and regular checkups are sufficient; if the thyroid function is abnormal, the thyroid gland is enlarged or painful, or there are pressure symptoms, treatment is needed. Hashimoto’s thyroiditis requires prompt medical attention.
