A choking sensation in the back is often caused by esophageal lesions. The common ones are benign esophageal strictures, esophageal diverticula, and the gradual development of esophageal ulcers can also lead to malignant ulcers. The most common is atypical proliferation of squamous epithelium, which will eventually turn into squamous carcinoma. The occurrence of esophageal cancer has certain geographical structural differences, especially in economically backward areas, where the diet structure is unreasonable, eating pickled vegetables or drinking highly concentrated alcohol, and eating food that is too hot can easily lead to the emergence of esophageal ulcers, which can cause obvious choking sensation when eating, and usually there is discomfort behind the sternum or back pain and burning sensation. Gastroscopy or upper gastrointestinal tract imaging can clarify the diagnosis. For early diagnosis of esophageal malignancy, surgery should be actively performed, and patients with advanced stage can be treated by radiotherapy.
