Five major preparations before gynecological surgery

  Before performing gynecological surgery, the surgeon, the patient and the family should make a series of preoperative preparations.  (1) Thought preparation ① Medical staff thought preparation: medical staff must carefully understand the patient’s mental state, confidence in the treatment of disease. At the same time, the medical staff must master the indications for surgery of the patient, and the preparation should be adequate, with a full understanding and estimation of the scope of surgery, the difficulty of surgery, and the possible occurrence of surgery.  Patients and their families’ ideological preparation: Patients have concerns and fears about surgery, medical staff must do the necessary explanation for their ideological situation, eliminate their concerns, make them confident and actively cooperate with medical staff.  (3) Both doctors and patients must fully communicate and sign the informed consent form before surgery.  (2) Pre-operative routine laboratory tests ① Pre-operative mandatory: blood, urine routine, bleeding and coagulation function and related tests, liver and kidney function, blood type, serum USR test, HBsAg test, anti-HCV, syphilis-related test (RPR test), anti-HIV antibody test, electrocardiogram, chest X-ray ②Additional tests as appropriate: glucose, lipids, electrolytes, etc. for elderly patients ③When available: heart and lung function, full set of biochemical tests and electrolytes can be measured according to the condition ③If available: heart, lung function, full set of biochemical tests and coagulation tests according to the condition.  (4) In case of emergency, specimens of some tests that are not available immediately can be kept according to the patient’s condition, and the test results should be checked in time after resuscitation.  (3) Other auxiliary examinations According to the condition, systemic examinations such as digestive tract and urinary system can be performed.  (4) Preoperative vaginal preparation 3 days before surgery, 3‰ iodophor or 1‰ Neosporin should be used to rinse the vagina once a day. On the day of surgery, after rinsing the vagina, 75% alcohol, iodine or 3‰ iodophor should be used to disinfect the cervix.  (5) Preoperative routine bowel preparation ①For general adnexal resection, hysterectomy and laparoscopic surgery, a soap and water enema should be performed one day before surgery.  (2) If extensive hysterectomy or ovarian cancer tumor cell reduction is required, a cleansing enema should be performed.  ③If ectopic pregnancy is suspected, enemas are prohibited before surgery.
