Which is better: Chinese herbal no-decoction granules or tablets?

  1. Theoretically, the efficacy of decoction-free granules should be comparable to that of the tablets. Because decoction-free granules are decocted with ten times more water than raw medicine, and with the addition of solvent, the active ingredients can be extracted more effectively. If patients decoct their own, they usually use four times as much water as the raw medicine, and some of the active ingredients of the medicine are insoluble in water. But in the process of stereotyping, no-decoction granules add qualitative agent, then the proportion of its active ingredients is reduced; on the other hand, the drug of no-decoction granules is a single herb for purification, which lacks the mutual reaction between multiple drugs in the decoction process. Therefore, the efficacy of the two should be considered equivalent. 2. From the clinical feedback, some patients responded that the effect of decoction-free granules is better than that of tablets, while some responded that it is not as good as tablets. There may be psychological factors and other factors, and it is not yet possible to determine which is better or worse. Therefore, patients should use decoction-free pellets or tablets according to their personal preferences and needs.
