Foreign body sensations in poked eyes should be examined immediately at a hospital eye clinic and treated accordingly for different injuries. Foreign bodies in the cornea and conjunctiva may remain in the eye and require foreign body removal, with emphasis on checking for foreign bodies in the conjunctival sac. Treatment of corneal epithelial injury requires prevention of infection and the use of medications that promote corneal repair. Conjunctival injury, if it is a lamellar conjunctival laceration and the wound is small, can be treated without sutures to prevent infection, if it is a full laceration incision, it will need to be treated with sutures.
