Epilepsy is mainly treated with antiepileptic drugs, common antiepileptic drugs such as carbamazepine, sodium valproate, and imported preparations including Depakene. There are other aspects of medication for children, such as levetiracetam, which is a new type of medication for epilepsy. Epilepsy treatment usually takes 3-5 years of medication, and if the epilepsy is seizure-free for 3-5 years, the medication is effective. If the patient has no seizures for 3-5 years, the dosage can be gradually reduced, and if the seizures do not recur after the dosage is reduced, the epilepsy is basically clinically cured.
