You need to find the cause of the residual urine in order to treat it symptomatically: 1. If the residual urine in the bladder is too much because of the disease of the prostate, it is recommended to take oral medication for prostate enlargement, such as tamsulosin hydrochloride extended-release capsules or finasteride tablets to treat it. If the residual urine gradually decreases after treatment, continue to take the medication for treatment. If the residual urine does not decrease significantly after oral medication, it is recommended that the prostate be surgically removed with an indwelling catheter to restore normal urination and reduce residual urine. 2. If the residual urine is excessive due to urethral stricture, urethral dilatation is required. If urethral dilatation still does not improve the residual urine, surgical treatment is needed to repair the urethral stricture, and there will be no urine residue after the urethra is open. 3. If there is urine residue caused by obstruction such as stones and tumors of the urethra, inpatient surgery is needed. After removing the stone or tumor under urethroscopy and restoring the patency of the urethra, there will be no residual urine.
