What are the symptoms of a serious thyroid nodule?

Thyroid nodules may present with localized pressure symptoms in severe cases, and some patients may have symptoms associated with hyperthyroidism or hypothyroidism. There is individual variability in the clinical manifestations of thyroid nodules. 1. Symptoms of compression: for example, dysphagia and pain in swallowing may occur when compressing the esophagus; shortness of breath and cough may occur when compressing the trachea, and hemoptysis may be induced after infringing on the trachea; hoarseness may occur when compressing the recurrent laryngeal nerve. 2. Symptoms related to hyperthyroidism, such as palpitation, excessive sweating, agitation, anxiety and irritability, fear of heat, hyperphagia, flushing and so on. 3. Symptoms related to hypothyroidism: e.g. easy fatigue, fear of cold, low sweat, slow reaction, drowsiness, non-sagging edema, loss of appetite, anemia, weakness, etc. Patients with thyroid nodules should consult a doctor in a timely manner to clarify the nature of the nodules under the guidance of the doctor and, if necessary, follow the doctor’s instructions for appropriate treatment.
