The so-called “common nosebleed” refers to nosebleed not caused by nasopharyngeal cancer. The difference between nosebleed caused by nasopharyngeal cancer and other causes of nosebleed mainly lies in the difference of bleeding site and accompanying symptoms. 1. Bleeding site: rupture of blood vessels in the mucous membrane of nasal cavity, nasal septum, nasal turbinate, nasal passage and nasopharynx will cause nosebleed. Bleeding caused by nasopharyngeal cancer is mainly in the location of nasopharynx. Ordinary nosebleed is mostly in the anterior part of nasal cavity, usually caused by rupture of mucous membrane of nasal septum or mucous membrane of anterior part of nasal cavity. 2. Symptoms: Nasal symptoms of nasopharyngeal carcinoma may appear in early stage with blood in sucking back snot or blood in blowing nose, which is sporadic and often accompanied by nasal congestion, visual impairment, tinnitus, dizziness, headache and ringing in the ears. Other causes of nosebleeds, the symptoms of which are related to the primary disease, such as nasal septum deviation, can appear nasal congestion, nosebleeds, etc.; atrophic rhinitis caused by nosebleeds, often accompanied by nasal dryness and other symptoms. Bleeding from the nasal mucosa is small, easy to stop, and generally no longer bleeds after control. If nasal bleeding occurs, it is recommended to consult a doctor in time to find out the cause and follow the doctor’s instructions for treatment.
