The main causes of nodules in the neck include enlarged lymph nodes in the neck such as lymphadenitis, lymph node tuberculosis, lymphoma, and thyroid occupations such as thyroid nodules and thyroid adenoma. For different causes, the main methods to eliminate neck nodules include medication, surgery and radiotherapy.
1. Drug treatment: For lymph node enlargement caused by infection, the treatment is based on oral or intravenous application of antibiotics, anti-tuberculosis drugs and other cause-specific treatments. If lymphoma, it needs to be treated by systemic chemotherapy.
2. Surgery: large thyroid tumors, thyroid nodules that have caused localized pressure, or thyroid cancer may need to be surgically removed.
3. Radiation therapy: if the neck nodule is a malignant tumor of thyroid, radiation therapy may be needed after surgery; or the pathological type of the tumor is undifferentiated carcinoma, malignant tumor lymph node metastasis with compression symptoms, radiotherapy is also usually chosen.
Once the neck nodule is found, patients are all required to go to the hospital in time to clarify the cause of the disease and receive targeted treatment.
