Pathologic diagnosis of intestinal polyps described as atypical hyperplasia, high-grade intraepithelial neoplasia, microscopic cancer cells need to be considered malignant.
Pathological examination of intestinal polyps, first of all, need to take a biopsy by enteroscopy, sent to the pathology for further examination, through the staining section using a microscope to observe the nature of the polyp, polyps can be clinically classified into inflammatory polyps, hyperplastic polyps, tubular adenomas, choriocarpal adenomas and so on. Most polyps are benign.
However, if the pathological diagnosis of polyp is atypical hyperplasia, high-grade intraepithelial neoplasia, visible cancer cells, and detailed description of the degree of differentiation of cancer cells, it is considered to be the possibility of malignant changes. In this case, the pathologist should issue the relevant pathology results, and the clinician should combine the clinical symptoms to make a comprehensive evaluation.
