Does falling on the back of your head affect your speech?

A fall to the back of the head that does not result in severe cranial injury will not usually affect speech. If a fall to the back of the head results in parenchymal brain damage, speech may be affected. The language center nerves are found in the cerebral cortex in the cerebral hemispheres of the human brain, usually on the left side of the brain. If a patient falls to the back of the head and suffers a parenchymal injury, it may result in damage to the central nervous system for speech. This can lead to speech disorders such as stuttering and aphasia. Some patients with less severe damage to the central nervous system can regain some or all of their speech after treatment. However, some patients with severe damage to the central nervous system usually cannot regain full speech. If the patient has a speech disorder after a fall, timely treatment should be carried out to avoid the necrosis of the speech nerve center caused by untimely treatment. Patients should go to the hospital for examination and treatment in time to avoid delaying their condition.
