Procedure of tooth root extraction

In the process of tooth root extraction, local anesthesia is required first, usually local infiltration anesthesia or nerve block anesthesia is adopted in clinical practice. The extraction is usually performed after 3-5 minutes of anesthesia and the anesthetic takes effect. In the process of root extraction, the main instruments include heel tip jaws and apical forceps. In the application of jaws, the jaws are mainly applied under the higher fracture end, and the roots can be extracted by applying apical forceps after the roots have been loosened. After extraction, local compression is needed to restore the size of the alveolar socket, and dry cotton balls are bitten tightly over it. After the extraction, the postoperative doctor’s orders should be strictly followed, and the extraction wound will generally heal completely in about three months.
