Does acute tonsillitis cause a rash?

Patients with acute tonsillitis usually do not have symptoms of a rash. The most typical symptom of acute tonsillitis is pain in the throat area, which can be on one side or both sides, and the pain will be significantly aggravated when swallowing or coughing. In addition, patients will also have chills, fever, body temperature can reach 39 ℃ or more, can last 3-5 days. In some patients, the enlarged tonsils may squeeze the soft palate, causing slurred speech. In a small number of children, due to the narrow airway, the enlarged tonsils may block the airway and interfere with sleep, resulting in breathing difficulties, waking up with suffocation or snoring during sleep. If the inflammation spreads to the throat, hoarseness, sore throat, coughing up phlegm, and a foreign body sensation in the throat can occur. If it spreads to the nasal cavity it can cause nasal congestion, runny nose, and headache. If the inflammation infects the ear, tinnitus, earache, and hearing loss can occur.
