Recipe and efficacy of Dihuang Tang

Dihuang Tang is composed of Radix Rehmanniae Praeparata, Folium Artemisiae, Radix Scutellariae, Radix Angelicae Sinensis and other Chinese herbs, and its effect is to nourish blood and stop bleeding, and it is used for treating deficiency of qi and blood in women, with constant menstrual flow.
Di Huang Tang is from “General Records of the Sheng Ji” and its composition includes: raw Radix Rehmanniae Praeparata, fried Ai Ye, Radix Scutellariae Radix, Radix Angelicae Sinensis, Radix Angelicae Sinensis, Radix et Rhizoma Dioscoreae, Radix et Rhizoma Polygoni Multiflori, Radix et Rhizoma Polygoni Multiflori, Radix et Rhizoma Gingeri, and Rhizoma Pu Huang.
In the formula, Angelica sinensis is mild in nature, which can invigorate blood, tonify blood, regulate menstruation and relieve pain; Radix Rehmanniae Praeparata and Radix Scutellariae Scutellariae are the main ingredients, which can cool blood and stop bleeding (make blood cool and moist to prevent bleeding); Radix Rehmanniae Praeparata and Radix et Rhizoma Cyperi, which can assist in cooling blood and stopping bleeding; Ailanthus Extract warms menstruation and stops bleeding; Folium Lobatae retracts astringency and stops bleeding; Rhizoma Puerariae resolves blood stasis and stops bleeding, and Ginger regulates the properties of the medicines.
The whole formula can nourish blood and stop bleeding, and is suitable for the treatment of women with deficiency of qi and blood and constant menstrual flow.
