Rabies vaccination is required as soon as possible after being scratched by a cat to avoid rabies virus infection, and is usually given within 24 hours. The full course of rabies vaccination is divided into 5 doses and 4 doses. 5 doses are given 5 times, 1 dose each time, on days 0, 3, 7, 14 and 28, respectively. 4 doses, i.e. 211, are given on days 0, 7 and 21, with 2 doses on day 0, 1 dose on the left and right upper arm, and another dose on days 7 and 21, respectively. If the rabies antibody is tested to be more than 0.5 U/ml after the full course of vaccination within 1 month, it is basically less likely to be infected with rabies virus. If you are scratched by a cat for more than 48 hours without receiving a rabies vaccination shot, you may be infected with rabies virus. Being infected by rabies virus, the incubation period is as short as 5 days, generally 2-3 months is common, and some patients will exceed 1 year. Patients should have their wounds flushed with soapy water for 15 minutes and disinfected with iodophor prior to rabies vaccination. After rabies vaccination, proper avoidance of food, spicy and stimulating diet, stimulating beverages, and application of immunosuppressive agents is required. It is also necessary to take more rest and avoid overexertion and strenuous activities.
