How long can you live with advanced esophageal cancer?

In general, the 5-year survival rate of advanced esophageal cancer is about 10%-20%, which varies depending on the disease. Esophageal cancer is a common malignant tumor of the esophagus with high death rate. The typical symptoms include progressive dysphagia, progressive difficulty in eating, etc., which may lead to malnutrition and emaciation, anemia, etc. In order to prolong the survival period, treatment can be combined with radiotherapy, chemotherapy and intervention after surgery. If metastasis occurs in late stage, patients’ survival time will be affected and they may die within a year or about 3-6 months. In terms of diet in late stage of esophageal cancer, fluid diet should be chosen, with nutritious and easily digestible food as the main food. At the same time, pay attention to more rest and maintain a positive and optimistic state of mind, etc.
