Head lice do not usually go away on their own.

Male patients should shave their heads and apply the medicine, while female patients should use a dense grate to remove the lice and nits. Physical methods such as boiling, dry heat or freezing can also be used to kill lice or nits on clothing, quilts and other contaminants.
