What’s wrong with a small bag inside the bridge of the nose?

A small pouch inside the bridge of the nose is not very common. It may be a subcutaneous sebaceous cyst, also known as a powdery tumor, which may be formed by localized sebaceous glands or hair follicles with blocked secretion and retention of secretions. If there is no infection in the early stage, there may be no pain. Once there is a local infection, a boil may form and the surface skin may become congested and even break down and flow pus. When there is no rupture, patients are advised to eat lightly and not to squeeze or pinch with their hands. If there is local pain, oral antibiotics can be administered for treatment. If local swelling is found to be significant with fluctuating sensation, an abscess may be formed locally and a doctor needs to be consulted for local incision and drainage. Other diseases, such as lipoma and hemangioma, may also show this symptom, but it is very rare.
