How to get rid of thyroid nodules

Benign thyroid nodules may not require special treatment if there are no other uncomfortable symptoms and thyroid function is normal, but surgical resection should be considered if there are compression symptoms or if the nodules are diagnosed as malignant. Asymptomatic benign thyroid nodules with normal thyroid function generally do not require special treatment, and regular follow-up thyroid ultrasound to observe whether there is any progress can be done; for thyroid nodules associated with hypothyroidism can be treated with levothyroxine tablets, and those associated with hyperthyroidism can be treated with antithyroid drugs such as propylthiouracil, or with iodine radiation therapy. If the thyroid nodule is too large and causes pressure symptoms such as dyspnea and dysphagia, or if the nodule is diagnosed as malignant, surgical removal may be considered. Patients who are diagnosed with thyroid nodules can go to the hospital and ask the doctor to make a judgment based on their own situation and give them a treatment plan.
