Diagnostic criteria for frontotemporal dementia (Mckhann GH, et al, 2001) Behavioral or cognitive decline manifested as one of the following: 1. early onset and progressive worsening of personality changes, mainly difficulties in managing behavior, inappropriate reactions or activities; 2. early onset and progressive worsening of language impairment, difficulties in verbal expression or severe naming difficulties and word meaning problems; 3. 1a or 1b causing Significant impairment in social or occupational functioning and a significant decline compared to the past; 4. The course of the illness is characterized by a slow onset and continuous progression; 5. 1a or 1b is not due to another neurological disorder, systemic illness, or substance abuse; 6. Cognitive or behavioral abnormalities are not present only during delirium; 7. A psychotic diagnosis does not explain the above scenario (e.g., depression).
