Cold or warm nature of balsam

Neither cold nor warm, Xiang Fu is a flat drug. Xiang Fu is a traditional Chinese medicine that is pungent, slightly bitter, slightly sweet, and flat in nature, and belongs to the Liver, Spleen, and San Jiao meridians. It has the effects of dispelling the liver and relieving depression (treating depression by unblocking the liver’s qi), regulating menstruation and relieving pain (regulating menstruation and relieving menstrual pain), and regulating qi and broadening the middle (regulating the qi of the spleen and stomach). Caution should be exercised if there is deficiency of qi without stagnation, deficiency of yin or blood heat. 2. It can be used in combination with Chai Hu, Chuan Xiong, Hovenia or Cumin, Wu Yao, etc. It is effective in treating liver depression and stagnation of qi (poor transportation of qi and blood in the liver, emotional and mental depression), distension of the chest and ribs, hernia and abdominal pain. 3. It can be used in combination with Chai Hu, Chuan Xiong, Angelica sinensis and other medicines to treat menstrual disorders, dysmenorrhea, amenorrhea, breast distension and pain. Xiang Fu should be used under the guidance of traditional Chinese medicine practitioner’s diagnosis, and should not be used blindly on its own to avoid adverse consequences.
