How to eat sea buckthorn berries correctly

Sea buckthorn fruit is mostly used as dried product to drink, or can be combined with raisins, Yu Gan Zi and other boiled water to take warm, or can be boiled into a paste for use.
Sea buckthorn has the effects of relieving cough and phlegm, strengthening stomach and food, activating blood circulation and dissipating blood stasis.
It can be used in treating abdominal pain and food stagnation (indigestion of food and stagnation of food in the stomach) or low food intake and deficiency of the spleen. It can warm the spleen and stomach, promote the production of fluids and yin, eliminate food and open the stomach. It is often used in combination with Yu Gan Zi and Coriander Zi.
Dispelling phlegm and relieving cough can be used for coughing with much phlegm, and it is recorded in the Four Medical Classics that seabuckthorn is decocted into a paste in appropriate quantity.
Dispersing blood stasis and invigorating blood circulation can be used for chest paralysis (stuffy pain in the chest), heart pain, blood stasis and swelling caused by bruises and injuries as well as menstrual stasis, and can be used in combination with Panax ginseng and Rhizoma Ligustici Chuanxiong.
When sea buckthorn is used for coughing and phlegm, it can be combined with raisins and taken with boiled water; when it is used for food accumulation, stomachache and abdominal pain, for example, “Medicinal Plants of Desert Areas” uses 3-9g of dried sea buckthorn in decoction to treat stomachache and dyspepsia.
It should be noted that people who are full of yang qi should be cautious of eating it, no matter it is a single medicine or the combination of Chinese medicine, it should be taken under the guidance of a professional physician, and if there is any discomfort, consult a doctor in time.
