Malignant brain tumors include gliomas, malignant meningiomas, germ cell tumors, medulloblastomas, metastases, and so on. The main treatment for brain malignant tumors is surgical resection. Because malignant tumors grow infiltratively, surgery cannot completely remove the tumor, so radiotherapy and chemotherapy are needed after surgery to further kill the tumor cells, and regular review is needed after surgery. Some malignant tumors are more sensitive to radiotherapy, such as germ cell tumors, so radiation therapy can be considered first. Some patients who are in poor physical condition and cannot tolerate surgery can also be considered for radiotherapy or chemotherapy. Patients with childhood malignant tumors should consider whether to have surgery or radiotherapy or chemotherapy first according to the age and physical condition of the child.
