Symptoms of Liver-Spleen disharmony (inability of the liver and spleen to work in harmony) are characterized by pain and fullness in the chest and ribs, depression or irritability, lack of appetite, abdominal distention, and loose stools (thin, misshapen stools).
Chinese medicine believes that the liver and spleen are complementary to each other, with the liver responsible for coordinating the normal functioning of the internal organs and the spleen responsible for transporting the essence of food throughout the body.
When TCM suggests that the liver and spleen are not in harmony, it generally means that the liver qi is too rebellious, affecting the spleen and stomach, resulting in digestive disorders.
The main symptoms include dizziness, irritability, chest tightness, dystocia (pain in the area of the ribs) and symptoms of spleen deficiency such as distension and pain in the epigastrium (abdomen), anorexia, diarrhea, and stringy pulse.
If symptoms of Liver-Spleen disharmony occur, it is recommended to consult a doctor in a timely manner and take treatment under the doctor’s guidance to avoid delaying the condition.
