What’s wrong with a soft shoulder?

A soft bump on the shoulder is considered to be a lipoma occurring under the skin, which is also a common benign condition. If there is no pain or other discomfort, it can also be temporarily observed. Lipoma is a tumor-like lesion caused by abnormal localized fatty growth, which is especially common in obese patients. Because of the combination of abnormal liver function and abnormal fat metabolism in the liver, patients may also have a fatty liver and symmetrical fatty growths or hyperplasia around the body. If the lesion increases in size, or if the patient has painful symptoms that affect the movement of the shoulder joint, surgery should be performed to remove the lipoma. Pathological histological examination should be performed after surgery, and care should be taken to avoid damage to the subcutaneous vessels or local recurrence of the lipoma.
