What is the difference between Roasted Astragalus and Astragalus?

Astragalus is commonly used as raw astragalus and roasted astragalus. The difference between roasted astragalus and raw astragalus is that roasted astragalus is good at benefiting qi and tonifying the middle, while raw astragalus is good at fixing the surface and stopping sweating (stopping sweating by reinforcing the surface of the muscle), and so on. Astragalus is a traditional Chinese medicine, according to the different methods of preparation, it is divided into moxibustion astragalus and raw astragalus, both of which have the effects of diuretic, tonifying qi and consolidating the epidermis (consolidating the epidermis by tonifying qi), astringing sores and regenerating the muscle (helping sores to heal faster and promoting the growth of new flesh), and draining the pus from the body (draining out the body’s pus and toxins), and so on. Roasted Astragalus is good at benefiting qi and tonifying the middle, suitable for those who have little food and loose stools (thin and unformed feces), and those who are weak in qi. Raw Astragalus is good at inducing water retention and eliminating swelling (to relieve urination and eliminate edema), fixing the surface and stopping sweating (to stop sweating by consolidating the surface of the muscle), supporting sores and draining pus, mostly used for ulcers that don’t break down or don’t converge after a long period of time, deficient Wei qi (insufficient positive qi to defend the surface of the body), spontaneous sweating (involuntary sweating during the daytime, aggravated by sweating after a little movement), and oedema. The adverse effects of Astragalus are not known. Note that it should not be used when heat and toxicity are still present after ulceration of sores or at the beginning of surface sores. If used with other drugs, drug interactions need to be considered. Astragalus should be applied according to the condition in the TCM physician after identification, do not take on your own to avoid adverse consequences.
