Dosage of Simeglutide

The generic name for simelglutide is simelglutide injection, and the starting dose of simelglutide injection is 0.25 mg once weekly. after 4 weeks, the dose is increased to 0.5 mg once weekly; the dose may be increased to 1 mg once weekly after a further treatment period of at least 4 weeks at 0.5 mg once weekly. This 0.25mg is not a maintenance dose. It is also recommended that the weekly dose does not exceed 1 mg. It is administered as a single injection via subcutaneous injection into a site of choice on the abdomen, thighs, or upper arms, not intravenously or intramuscularly. The most common adverse reactions are gastrointestinal disorders, including nausea, diarrhea, and vomiting. Other adverse reactions can be seen in cholelithiasis, fatigue, acute pancreatitis, diabetic retinopathy, and risk of thyroid C-cell tumors. Severe hypoglycemia can occur when it is used in combination with sulfonylureas or insulin. It is contraindicated in people who are allergic to any of the components of the drug; in patients with a personal past or family history of medullary thyroid cancer or type 2 multiple endocrine neoplasia syndromes; and in pregnant and breastfeeding women. Women of childbearing potential must use contraception when using the drug.
